MANAGER, FINANCE

Duties & Responsibilities

1)     Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Coordinate preparation of monthly management reporting packs.
• Perform detailed variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year.
• Prepare clear executive summaries highlighting key financial trends, risks and actions required.
• Analyse revenue, gross margin, SG&A, EBITDA and cash flow performance.
• Develop meaningful KPIs and dashboards for management reporting.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting across entities and business units.

2)     Project Profitability & Margin Analysis

• Review project financial performance on a monthly basis.
• Analyse project margins by project, customer, business unit and geography.
• Identify margin erosion and investigate the underlying causes.
• Monitor cost-to-complete assumptions and forecast profitability.
• Challenge project forecasts and support project review meetings with operational teams.
• Perform post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and margin improvement opportunities.

3)     Forecasting & Planning

• Support preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Analyse forecast versus actual performance and explain material deviations.
• Develop scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis for key business decisions.
• Support order book, revenue forecasting and project pipeline reporting.

4)     Reporting Automation & Finance Transformation

• Automate monthly reporting processes using Excel, Power Query, Power BI or similar tools.
• Develop dashboards and self-service reporting solutions for management.
• Improve data quality, reporting consistency and transparency of financial information.
• Support implementation of finance automation initiatives and reporting process improvements.
• Assist with the development of finance data infrastructure, standard reports and KPI tracking.

5)     Business Partnering

• Work closely with project managers, operations teams, finance managers and senior management.
• Translate financial information into actionable business insights.
• Support management decision-making through ad hoc analysis and deep dives.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve profitability, utilisation and productivity.

6)     Governance & Controls

• Review unusual transactions, large movements and material variances.
• Assess the quality of accruals, cost allocations and project accounting assumptions.
• Support financial audits, internal reviews and management reporting governance.
• Assist with development of financial policies, process documentation and reporting standards.

Qualification & Experience generally required

1. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent. CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred.
2. 4 to 7 years of relevant experience. Big 4 audit background preferred. FP&A, business analysis or finance transformation experience would be advantageous.
3. Experience in EPC, engineering, construction, project-based services, industrial services, oil & gas, petrochemical or similar environments would be highly advantageous.
4. Advanced Excel. Power BI, Power Query or other data analytics tools preferred. ERP exposure such as Business Central, SAP, Oracle or equivalent would be useful.
5. Strong understanding of financial performance drivers, project accounting, margin analysis, revenue and cost recognition, and forecast accuracy.
6. Curious, analytical, detail-oriented, independent and comfortable challenging assumptions. Able to communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
