Radius Recycling's Manager in Training (MIT) - Metals Operations program is designed for ambitious professionals who want to develop into future operations leaders. This is a hands-on leadership development role that provides real-world experience across the key functions that drive a large-scale metals recycling business.

You'll work alongside experienced leaders, rotate through different areas of the operation, and gain exposure to safety, operations, logistics, maintenance, commercial activities, inventory management, finance, and continuous improvement. Rather than sitting behind a desk, you'll spend time learning directly in our recycling yards, production facilities, and business operations.

What You'll Learn

Learn

Understand how a complex industrial operation works, including safety standards, material flow, customer and supplier interactions, and the factors that drive business performance.

Take responsibility for projects, improvements, and business outcomes while learning how operational decisions impact safety, service, productivity, costs, and profitability.

What You'll Do

• Rotate through multiple operational and business functions
• Partner with operations leaders to support daily facility activities
• Participate in safety initiatives and environmental compliance efforts
• Learn production processes, scale operations, inspections, and shipment management
• Support maintenance planning and equipment reliability efforts
• Analyze operational and financial performance metrics
• Assist with process improvement and business performance initiatives
• Participate in leadership training, coaching, and development activities
• Travel to other Radius Recycling locations for learning opportunities and business exposure

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, and leadership
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment
• Strong follow-through and accountability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in metals recycling, manufacturing, industrial operations, logistics, construction materials, aggregates, mining, transportation, or other heavy industrial environments
• Exposure to maintenance, fabrication, production, equipment operations, or process improvement
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems
• Ability to understand operational, technical, and financial information and use it to drive business results

Work Environment

This is an active, field-based role that combines office work with time spent in industrial recycling and production environments. You'll work around large equipment, outdoor operations, and active processing facilities while learning how successful industrial businesses operate.
