What they need

About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute infrastructure leader to join Unitywater as Manager, Infrastructure Solutions, leading the next phase of our Capital Program.

Two years into our integrated delivery journey, our focus is on strengthening program performance while continuing to mature our collaborative partnerships, capability and ways of working that underpin our long-term program delivery model.

Reporting to the Executive Manager, Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions, you will lead the Infrastructure Solutions Branch and work collaboratively with our Framework Partners – Abegeldie, Downer, Dormway and Elevate (a joint venture of Aurecon and AECOM) – to develop and deliver Unitywater's $1.8 billion rolling five-year capital program.

This is a significant leadership opportunity to influence both immediate delivery outcomes and the future direction of infrastructure delivery at Unitywater, balancing commercial performance, operational effectiveness and sustainable investment to support our rapidly growing region.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Lead the performance and delivery of the rolling five-year capital program, strengthening delivery certainty, commercial outcomes and effective management of safety, quality and infrastructure risks.
  • Drive the integration and performance of Unitywater teams and Framework Partners, establishing clear accountabilities, strengthening collaboration and optimising resources across multidisciplinary delivery teams.
  • Accelerate the maturity of the integrated delivery model, embedding effective governance, streamlined processes, performance measures and continuous improvement across the program lifecycle.
  • Provide strategic leadership across infrastructure prioritisation, planning, design and delivery, ensuring investment decisions support long-term asset performance, operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
  • Build organisational capability and lead change, fostering a high-performing, commercially focused and collaborative environment that delivers sustainable infrastructure outcomes.

About you:
Our One Unitywater behaviours – Create the Future, Care Together, and Own It – define how we work together at Unitywater. To contribute to this, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role:

Must have:

  • Engineering degree with eligibility for Corporate Membership of Engineers Australia and current Registration as a Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ), or eligibility for registration.
  • Substantial senior executive leadership experience managing large, complex infrastructure programs and multidisciplinary teams across the full infrastructure lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve program delivery performance, manage complex commercial and operational risks, and drive accountability for outcomes.
  • Proven experience leading strategic partnerships, relationship-based contracts and collaborative delivery arrangements involving shared risk and performance obligations.
  • Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking and demonstrated capability to lead organisational change, mature operating models and build high-performing teams.

Nice to have:

  • Experience within the Australian water industry or similarly complex, regulated infrastructure environments.
  • Experience working within integrated delivery teams, alliance arrangements or long-term infrastructure delivery partnerships.
  • Demonstrated success in strengthening program governance, delivery assurance and performance management frameworks.
  • Experience in strategic asset management, infrastructure investment prioritisation and whole-of-life asset performance.
  • Experience driving innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement across infrastructure delivery.
