Manager, IT Consulting

Paradigm Technology is seeking a Manager, IT Consulting. Hands on Delivery Lead, Informatica Governance, Quality, Integration & MDM, with AI-Augmented Delivery for our Enterprise Data Integration, Governance & Master Data Management practice. This is a Remote position within the US with periodic onsite client travel; hybrid option considered.

The Manager, IT Consulting is a hands-on, billable consulting lead who personally builds and delivers solutions across the Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) suite — Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC), Cloud Data Quality (IDQ/CDQ), Cloud Data Integration and Application Integration (CDI & CAI), and Master Data Management (MDM SaaS / Customer 360 or on-premises MDM). This is a working technical consultant role first, with light-touch project leadership layered on top — not a management role that happens to know the tools.

The ideal candidate spends the majority of their time in the platforms: designing governance taxonomies, building data quality rules and scorecards, developing integration mappings and API-led processes, configuring match/merge logic, and increasingly, using AI and LLM-based tooling to accelerate metadata classification, migration, code generation, and testing. They are credible enough to be the most senior technical voice in the room, while also managing scope, client relationships, and junior consultants on their engagements.

Responsibilities

Hands-On Technical Delivery (Primary Focus)

Personally design, configure, and build solutions across the Informatica IDMC suite — this is not a review-only or oversight role:

CDGC: build business glossaries, data domains, classification/ontology structures, metadata scanning connections, and lineage; lead migration of content from Axon and EDC.

IDQ/CDQ: author profiling jobs, data quality rules, scorecards, standardization and cleansing logic, and matching/dedupe rulesets; tune rule performance.

CDI & CAI: build and optimize integration mappings, API-led processes, and orchestrations; lead PowerCenter-to-IDMC conversion; configure and troubleshoot secure agents.

MDM: model customer/product/supplier domains, configure match/merge and survivorship rules, build hierarchies, and integrate MDM with governance and quality layers.

Write and review mappings, rules, taxonomies, and test scripts directly — set the technical bar by doing the work, not just inspecting it.

Troubleshoot complex technical issues (environment access, data reconciliation, secure-agent connectivity, performance) hands-on, escalating to Informatica support only when needed.

Prototype and stand-up proof-of-concept solutions quickly to validate approach before full build.

AI-Augmented Delivery

Apply generative AI and LLM-based tools to accelerate delivery across the Informatica stack, including:

AI-assisted metadata classification, business term suggestion, and glossary/taxonomy generation within CDGC.

AI-assisted migration acceleration for Axon-to-CDGC and EDC-to-CDGC content mapping and transformation.

LLM-based code and mapping generation/conversion for PowerCenter-to-IDMC and CDI/CAI development, with human validation of generated logic.

AI-assisted data quality rule suggestion, anomaly detection, and profiling insight generation in IDQ/CDQ.

Using AI coding assistants (e.g., Copilot-style tools, prompt-driven scripting) to speed up mapping documentation, test case generation, and technical writing.

Evaluate and pilot emerging AI capabilities within the Informatica roadmap (e.g., CLAIRE-powered features) and recommend where they can responsibly reduce delivery effort.

Build lightweight automation and scripts (Python, SQL, or low-code AI tools) to speed up repetitive migration, validation, and reconciliation tasks.

Coach consultants on practical AI-assisted workflows for governance, quality, and integration development.

Consulting & Client Engagement

Act as the senior technical voice in client workshops, requirements sessions, and design reviews — presenting and defending solution approaches directly.

Translate business drivers (regulatory, operational, data quality) into concrete technical designs and delivery plans.

Produce technical documentation, solution options, and executive-ready summaries of technical decisions and trade-offs.

Build trusted-advisor relationships with client technical leads and architects through consistent, credible hands-on delivery.

Light-Touch Project Leadership

Plan and track your own workstream(s): scope, timeline, and dependencies, using standard PM tooling (Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent).

Coordinate day-to-day with a small team of consultants (typically 2-5), reviewing their technical output and unblocking issues directly rather than through layers of process.

Flag risks, staffing needs, and scope changes to the engagement lead or account director; contribute to status reporting without owning heavy program-management overhead.

Mentor consultants through pairing and hands-on code/mapping/rule review rather than purely administrative oversight.

Requirements

Experience

• 7+ years in hands-on Informatica delivery (building, not just directing), with 2+ years in a lead consultant or technical lead capacity.
• Demonstrated hands-on build experience with at least three of the following, with working knowledge of all four expected:
• Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) or legacy Axon/Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC)
• Data Quality — IDQ (on-premises) and/or Cloud Data Quality (CDQ)
• Cloud Data Integration (CDI) and Cloud Application Integration (CAI), or PowerCenter
• Master Data Management (MDM) — SaaS (Customer 360/MDM SaaS) or on-premises MDM Hub
• Direct experience using AI/LLM tools in a data or software delivery context — e.g., AI-assisted migration, code generation/conversion, metadata classification, or AI coding assistants (Copilot, ChatGPT/Claude for technical work, or similar).
• Experience with legacy-to-cloud modernization or migration programs (e.g., PowerCenter/Axon/EDC to IDMC), including hands-on conversion work.
• Comfortable being the one "in the tool" for extended stretches — this role trades meeting load for build time relative to a pure management position.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical build skills across mapping/rule/taxonomy design, with the judgment to know when to hand-build versus when to accelerate with AI tooling.
• Working proficiency with SQL and at least one scripting language (Python preferred) for automation, validation, and light AI-tool integration.
• Practical, current knowledge of generative AI capabilities and limits — able to validate AI-generated mappings, rules, or code rather than accepting output blindly.
• Clear technical communication — able to explain design decisions and trade-offs to both engineers and business stakeholders.
• Enough project management fluency to run a workstream without needing a dedicated PM, but this is secondary to technical delivery capability.
• Comfortable mentoring through direct pairing and code/rule review rather than pure delegation.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent hands-on professional experience).

Preferred: Informatica certifications (CDGC, CDQ/IDQ, CDI/CAI, or MDM); certifications or demonstrated project experience in applied AI/LLM tooling are a strong plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Track record building or piloting AI-assisted accelerators for metadata migration, classification, or rule generation within the Informatica ecosystem.
• Experience with other large enterprise data management platforms beyond Informatica, spanning cloud data platforms, integration/ETL, governance/catalog, data quality, and MDM, such as:
• Cloud data platforms / warehouses / lakehouses: Snowflake, Databricks, Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Microsoft Fabric (incl. Azure Synapse), Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse, IBM watsonx.data, SAP Datasphere

• Data quality: Ataccama ONE, Precisely Data Integrity Suite, IBM InfoSphere QualityStage
• Master data management: Reltio, SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), IBM InfoSphere MDM, Semarchy, Profisee, Stibo Systems, TIBCO EBX, Ataccama ONE
• Prior experience in a regulated or governance-intensive industry (financial services, insurance, healthcare, or CPG).
• Experience contributing to a data governance operating model (stewardship processes, RACI) from a technical build perspective.
• Consulting firm background (Big 4, boutique data consultancy, or systems integrator) with exposure to hands-on delivery under SOWs.

Success Metrics

• Quality and speed of hands-on technical delivery — mappings, rules, taxonomies, and migrations built correctly and on schedule.
• Measurable use of AI-assisted acceleration on delivery tasks (e.g., migration throughput, rule authoring time, documentation turnaround).
• Client confidence in technical judgment, evidenced by direct client feedback and repeat engagement requests.
• Growth of consultants mentored through direct technical pairing and review.
