Manager - IT Support & Patch Management

We are looking for Application Support Manager (Patch Management).

You will be involving…

Team Leadership & Management:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Application Support and Patch Management Engineers.

• Liaise with customer on planning, role and responsibility on the assigned scope of work.

• Communication and negotiating skill with tactful approach for internal and external customers, with a solution to problem solving mindset and strong commitment to agreed schedules

Patch & Vulnerability Management:

• Plan, implement, and govern the enterprise patch management strategy across middleware, and operating systems, which can also work with application stake holders to ensure low risk deployment

• Oversee the planning, testing, and deployment of patches, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and adherence to Change Management protocols.

• Drive the automation of patching and deployment processes to improve efficiency and reduce human error.

• Maintain centralised inventory matrix tracking software /prduct versions, patch levels and known vulnerabilities; generate regular EOS/EOL risk reports and patch compliance dashboards for infrastructure and risk teams.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

• Manage relationships with third-party software vendors, managed service providers, and system integrators, ensuring they meet contractual SLAs and follow the standard practice as per customer needs

• Communicate effectively with senior management and business stake holders regarding planning, system status update, major incident handling, and risk posture.

We are looking for…

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT Management, or a related field.

• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in IT Operations, Application Support, or Infrastructure Management preferably in the Banking or Financial Services industry.

• At least 3+ years of proven experience in a managerial or team leadership role.

• Technical & Domain Knowledge:

  • Strong conceptual and practical knowledge of automated patch management, software distribution, and vulnerability management tools (e.g., SCCM, IBM BigFix, BMC, Tenable, Ansible).
  • Solid understanding of modern IT infrastructure, including Linux/Unix, Windows Server, Middleware (WebSphere, Tomcat), and databases (Oracle, MS SQL). Knowledge of DB2 and AIX would be an advantage
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is highly advantageous.

• Fluent in written and spoken Cantonese (Chinese) and English for internal stakeholder communications and technical documentation.

• Certification in ITIL, vendor products would be an advantage.
