What they need

Are you an experienced production leader with a strong background in machining, people leadership, and operational excellence? Do you want to make a visible impact on safety, quality, delivery performance, and team development in a complex high-tech manufacturing environment? Then this role is for you.

About About the role As Manager Machining, you are responsible for the daily performance, quality, and development of the machining department. You lead the production teams and create a safe, engaging, and results-driven working environment. At the same time, you drive stable production flow, optimal machine utilization, robust process control, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & team development: Lead, coach, and develop team leaders, operators, and technical specialists. Foster a culture of trust, accountability, and ownership, and actively contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and talent development.
  • Operational performance: Manage daily performance across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost. Identify operational risks early and take corrective action where needed.
  • Resource & capacity management: Own the departmental budget and optimize the deployment of people, machines, tooling, and production capacity.
  • Quality & process control: Ensure stable machining processes, strong process discipline, and compliance with quality and safety standards. Systematically reduce scrap, disruptions, and process variation.
  • Continuous improvement & change management: Lead and deliver improvements in lead time, machine utilization, automation, and standardization in close collaboration with manufacturing engineering, quality, maintenance, planning, and product teams.

How you lead:

  • You create a safe and respectful working environment where people feel heard and take responsibility
  • You delegate effectively, trust your team, and remain accessible and involved
  • You communicate clearly, connect people, and align them around common goals
  • You act consistently and fairly.
  • You believe sustainable performance goes hand in hand with a healthy work–life balance.

What We Offer

  • Performance-based salary growth that rewards your results
  • 33 vacation days per year (including public holidays) plus additional 13 ADV days
  • Time-for-time compensation when working extra hours
  • Strong focus on personal development, supported by a tailored growth and learning plan
  • Extensive career opportunities, with progression across a wide range of functions and projects
  • A young, entrepreneurial, and innovative company culture where initiative is encouraged
  • Free access to the company gym
  • iPhone, laptop and other necessary tools to help you perform your work optimally.
  • Free lunch, dinner and healthy snacks available every day on-site

What You Bring

  • A technical bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a machining, metalworking, or comparable manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and engage people and bring out the best in diverse teams
  • Familiarity with machining processes and CNC production is an advantage; more important is the ability to quickly understand the factors that influence quality, capacity, and machine utilization
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use production and quality data to drive decisions and performance improvements
  • A confident decision-maker who balances structure, pragmatism, and collaboration
  • Able to set clear direction and define a vision while leveraging the expertise of operators, specialists, and engineers
  • Experience with continuous improvement, automation, and project-based work in operations
  • Fluent in English
