Manager, Mainframe Systems Programming

For our client, we are seeking a Manager, Mainframe Systems Programming to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will lead mainframe systems programming operations within a technology services environment, ensuring the stability and effectiveness of critical software solutions. The manager will provide technical direction, support delivery priorities, and help strengthen team performance through coaching and hands-on leadership. In addition, this person will partner with internal teams and clients to manage risks, coordinate work, and support strong service outcomes.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $102,000 – $148,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Provide thought leadership within the assigned business unit
• Offer technical support for software solutions
• Direct team leaders and resources effectively
• Enhance team performance through mentoring and guidance
• Administer project management documents and manage ticket queues
• Conduct risk assessments and manage risks
• Facilitate client and team meetings as needed

Qualifications

• 10 years of mainframe systems programming experience
• 5+ years in IT operations with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of management experience in a related field
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ITSM tools like ServiceNow
