What they need

Are you ready to join a fast-paced, innovative team making a real impact in the renewable energy industry? Join Shoals Technologies Group (NASDAQ: SHLS), a leading provider of electrical balance of systems (EBOS) solutions for solar and energy storage. Headquartered just north of Nashville, Tennessee, we have been driving industry innovation since 1996 by delivering cutting-edge technologies that improve efficiency, safety, and reliability for solar systems worldwide. With over 60 GW of solar systems deployed globally, we're setting the standard for the renewable energy industry.

We are a collection of engineers, renewable advocates, curious minds, and collaborators. Our manufacturing facilities in Tennessee and Alabama, along with sales teams across Spain and Australia, enable us to power clean energy solutions across Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. We push boundaries and challenge each other to design, develop, and deliver solutions with the potential to change the world. We are the rebellious hero.

Shoals Technologies is hiring a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function across our manufacturing operations. This role is accountable for equipment uptime and reliability, maintenance team leadership, and cross-functional partnership with Production, Quality, and Engineering to meet production deliverables. The Maintenance Manager is a working supervisor, capable of troubleshooting automation, robotics, PLCs, human-machine interfaces, and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the maintenance team, including scheduling, performance management, training, and timecard approval.
  • Develop and implement a preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance program to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Serve as administrator of the CMMS system, ensuring accurate work order tracking, PM scheduling, and maintenance records.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, EHS, and Engineering to resolve equipment issues, minimize downtime, and support production schedules.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, including labor, parts, and capital equipment spend.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for equipment failures and recurring maintenance issues.
  • Develop and track maintenance KPIs (e.g., uptime, MTTR, MTBF, PM compliance) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement and sustain Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices across the facility.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and vendor/contractor relationships for outsourced repairs and specialized services.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements; lead safety inspections and audits.
  • Support new equipment installation, process changes, and continuous improvement projects alongside manufacturing engineering.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and repair as needed, including automation, robotics, PLCs, HMIs, and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and HVAC systems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment across all maintenance areas.
  • Model and enforce professional conduct and policy compliance within the team.
  • Travel to and coordinate maintenance activities across multiple sites as needed.
  • Adjust working hours to align with production needs, including occasional second/third shift, weekend, or holiday coverage.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • CMMS experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and HVAC systems.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, PLCs, and human-machine interfaces preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., TPM, Kaizen, Six Sigma, FMEA, root cause analysis) preferred.
  • Certification such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional), CPE (Certified Plant Engineer), or CMM (Certified Maintenance Manager) a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel between sites as needed.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional second/third shift, weekends, or holidays, to support production needs.
