Manager, MSIAM SOC Engineering

For our client, we are seeking a Manager, MSIAM SOC Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This role will lead a high-performing security engineering function focused on detection, automation, and SOC excellence across modern enterprise environments.

The manager will guide a team of Detection Engineers, drive technical execution, and help translate threat research into actionable capabilities that improve response and operational outcomes.

In addition, this position will partner closely with internal research and engineering teams to strengthen quality, scalability, and performance across critical security workflows.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $175,400 – $283,800 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of SOC and Detection Engineers, focusing on career development and operational excellence.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, including coding, designing automation playbooks, and evaluating technical architectures.
• Research emerging threats and platform capabilities to innovate content packs and automation initiatives.
• Oversee end-to-end detection and playbook development workflows, ensuring team accountability for KPIs.
• Collaborate with internal research teams and engineering to turn threat research into actionable platform capabilities.
• Enforce quality standards across the team for staging, testing, and continuous tuning of operational performance.
• Act as a senior technical escalation point during high-priority client engagements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management experience in security engineering or SOC teams in enterprise or managed services environments.
• 5+ years of experience across Detection Engineering, SIEM, SOAR, and EDR/XDR platforms.
• Strong coding proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with modern engineering standards like Detection-as-Code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep understanding of APT attack lifecycles and ability to design advanced correlation logic and workflows.
• Proven track record of driving engineering execution against SLAs and quality metrics while maintaining high team performance.
• Exceptional skills in communicating complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
