What they need

Manager on Duty (MOD) - Driving Range, Mini Golf and Entertainment Venue Swing Factory Pty Ltd Terrey Hills

Permanent Full-Time | Amusement, Events and Recreation Award 2020 – Grade 6 or 7 (based on experience)

Join the team at one of Sydney’s premier golf entertainment venues! ️

Swing Factory is an Australian-owned business delivering a first-class experience through golf, entertainment, and hospitality. Our venue at Terrey Hills combines a modern driving range, mini golf, café/bar, and a vibrant community atmosphere.

We are seeking an energetic, hands-on daily operations leader to help us maintain operational excellence and deliver memorable experiences to our customers.

We’re looking for a hands-on Manager on Duty with strong hospitality/F&B experience to lead the team and keep the venue running smoothly across our seven-day operation.

The Role

We’re seeking an individual that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, leading a small team and providing exceptional customer service. The venue is operational from 8am until 10pm daily. Shifts will vary between 7am and 11pm to support opening, closing, and operational requirements across the venue’s seven-day trading schedule.

The MOD will assist the Venue Manager and 2IC to provide daily operational management coverage across the venue. The position will oversee the daily delivery of Driving Range, Mini Golf and Hospitality experiences. Key responsibilities will include management of the team on duty, driving range ball collection process, venue presentation, asset management, overseeing the ordering, payment and delivery of all products, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.

You’ll report to the Venue Manager and work closely with the other MODs and Events Coordinator. The role will suit someone with previous experience managing or supervising a small team in a recreational, hospitality or customer interfacing industry looking for the next career step.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the senior team member on shift, overseeing daily venue operations and supporting staff across departments (driving range, kitchen, F&B, events, café and mini golf).
  • Support the Venue Manager and 2IC to performance manage the operational staff and drive continual improvement.
  • Manage driving range operations including bay bookings, bay presentation, golf ball collection and dispensing, golf ball tracking technology, customer issues and POS technology.
  • Lead and support FOH team members in the hospitality functions of Café, Bar and Kitchen service.
  • Deliver on the day events in co-ordination with the Events Coordinator.
  • Ensure a high-quality, welcoming, and consistent customer experience.
  • Ensure a safe environment, manage incidents, feedback, or issues professionally and in line with company policies. Ensure food safety, RSA, and WHS practices on shift are upheld to the highest standards.
  • Maintain daily reporting, handovers, and communication logs for Venue Management.
  • Oversee the completion of daily open and close procedures in all departments and the completion of regular department checklist tasks.

About You

  • You’re a natural leader and problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • You’re confident engaging with customers and supporting a young, energetic team.
  • You’re hands-on - happy to work on the floor, assist with food service, reset bays, or train new hires.
  • You’re reliable, switched-on, and able to think on your feet.
  • You genuinely enjoy working in hospitality, recreational or sporting environments and love creating great vibes for guests and staff alike.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in recreational, hospitality or venue supervision (driving range, bar, café, leisure or similar).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • RSA required; First Aid and Food Safety certificates highly desirable.
  • Comfortable with tech and POS systems (SwiftPOS, Tanda or similar a bonus).
  • Available for flexible shifts including weekends, evenings, and public holidays on a rotating roster. Rosters are designed to support work-life balance, with managers typically working one weekend shift per week, ensuring one weekend day off each week. A variety of roster patterns may be available, including condensed full-time weeks such as 4 x 10-hour days.
  • Barista or bar experience is a plus but not essential.

What We Offer

  • Amusement, Events & Recreation (AER) Award rates and conditions.
  • A supportive and fun team environment.
  • Career development opportunities within an expanding company.
  • Staff perks including golf gear and range access.
  • Flexible rostering arrangements that support work-life balance.
  • The chance to make your mark in a unique, fast-growing entertainment venue.
