What they need

About us

CBH is a leader in the Australian grain industry and the country's largest co-operative. Our work has meaning and is creating an exciting future - we're delivering WA's grain to the world. Our advanced logistics network stretches across the State, connecting the growers of WA with our customers, and providing opportunities for career growth in different roles and locations.

Ready to make an impact on a global scale with a local company?

We are CBH. We are what you're looking for.

The Role

CBH is looking for a payroll leader who can bring technical depth, open communication and a supportive leadership style to our People and Culture team. As Manager - Payroll, you will guide a team of three and help ensure payroll processes are accurate, efficient, compliant and easy to understand for employees and leaders across the business.

This role would suit someone who has led payroll in a medium to large organisation and enjoys working collaboratively across HR, employee relations, finance and operational teams. You will be part of an upbeat, committed team that values continuous improvement, strong relationships and doing payroll well.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach and support the payroll team to deliver accurate, timely and compliant payroll services.
  • Oversee one weekly payroll cycle across 10 enterprise agreements, common law contracts and relevant legislation.
  • Partner with Employee Relations and business stakeholders to support consistent interpretation and application of employment terms.
  • Maintain strong payroll governance through audit controls, procedures, work instructions and accurate reporting.
  • Encourage continuous improvement across payroll processes, systems and service delivery.

About You:

  • Significant end-to-end payroll experience in a medium to large organisation.
  • Previous payroll leadership experience, including coaching and developing team members.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, including taxation, superannuation, employment legislation and industrial instruments.
  • The ability to work across complex payroll environments, ideally including enterprise agreements and varied employee groups.
  • Experience with SAP / SuccessFactors and UKG / Kronos Workforce Dimensions would be highly regarded.
