Manager, People Systems Engineering (Remote Eligible)

For our client, we are seeking a Manager, People Systems Engineering (Remote Eligible) to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will lead the technical direction for the people technology ecosystem, with a strong focus on scalable, secure systems that support the employee experience. You will partner closely with product leadership and key stakeholders to shape strategy, improve workflows, and expand automation across people systems. The position also calls for driving engineering discipline, defining data architecture, and supporting a high-performing technical team.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $122,000 – $175,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Define the technical strategy for the people technology ecosystem
• Lead and develop the engineering team supporting people platforms
• Ensure the people systems architecture is scalable and secure
• Collaborate with product management to shape product and technical strategies
• Evaluate and streamline employee workflows, identifying automation opportunities
• Establish data strategy for people systems and architecture
• Improve software engineering practices within the people technology stack

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years in enterprise application engineering, software engineering, or HR technology
• 2+ years managing technical teams
• Strong understanding of Workday and its architecture
• Experience defining technical strategies or architectures
• Proficiency in software engineering practices and testing automation
• Effective communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
