Manager (Planning & Operations), Telecom Safety Training

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive MANAGER PLANNING & OPERATIONS to lead the coordination of our Safety Training programs (specifically Work at Heights, Tower Climbing, and RF Safety) for major Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Telecom Infrastructure Providers (InfraCos).

The ideal candidate must have a strong background in the TELECOM SECTOR and understand the unique operational challenges of tower sites, field teams, and safety compliance. You will be the central hub connecting our clients, our safety trainers, and our logistics team to ensure seamless training delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Training Planning & Scheduling

• Manage the end-to-end booking process for safety training sessions requested by Telecom clients (MNOs, Tower Companies, ISP).
• Coordinate with the clients L&D or Safety heads to understand training requirements (Work at Heights, Confined Space, First Aid, etc.) and batch sizes.
• Allocate Safety Trainers to specific sessions based on their certifications, location, and availability.
• Create and publish monthly training calendars, ensuring optimal utilization of trainer bandwidth and training equipment.

2. Proposal Management & Client Coordination

• Prepare and submit detailed training proposals and commercial quotations to clients based on their specific requirements.
• Follow up rigorously on submitted proposals to close bookings and confirm schedules.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding scheduling changes, cancellations, or urgent training needs.

3. Trainer Logistics & Travel Management

• Monitor and manage the complete travel lifecycle of Safety Trainers: flight/train bookings, hotel accommodations, and local ground transport.
• Ensure trainers are mobilized to remote tower sites or training centers on time.
• Handle last-minute logistical challenges (e.g., weather delays, site access issues) and re-plan schedules accordingly.

4. Operations

• Maintain a centralized database of all training records, attendance sheets, and trainer feedback.
• Ensure all training delivery complies with industry safety standards and client-specific SOPs.

KEY COMPETENCIES

Telecom Domain Knowledge: Understanding of tower sites, field engineering roles, and the safety risks associated with working at heights in the telecom industry.

Crisis Management: Ability to handle last-minute operational disruptions calmly and efficiently.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with senior telecom clients and field trainers.

Attention to Detail: Ensuring zero errors in logistics bookings and training certifications.

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or Engineering.
• Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Safety (NEBOSH/IOSH) is a plus.

Mandatory Experience:

• Prior experience in the Telecom sector (working with or for Mobile Network Operators, Tower Infra companies, or Telecom EPC contractors).
• Experience in scheduling field operations or technical training is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Office (Advanced Excel is a must).
• Experience with CRM software and Training Management Systems (TMS).
• Understanding of Geo-mapping tools for logistics planning is an advantage.
