Manager, Procurement and Import

Key Accountabilities:

• Strategic Leadership : Develop and implement overarching procurement and import strategies to meet company objectives, managing both direct and indirect spend.

• Supplier Management : Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and performance.

• Import Operations: Oversee end-to-end import processes, including documentation, coordination with overseas partners, and handover to customs/banking teams for smooth clearance.

• Cost & Risk Management : Drive cost reduction initiatives, optimize landed costs, analyze market trends, and implement strategies to mitigate supply chain risks (geopolitical, logistical).

• Team Leadership :Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing procurement and import team.

• Process Improvement : Identify and implement continuous improvements to enhance procurement efficiency, data accuracy, and overall operational flow.

• Budget & Performance : Manage the procurement budget, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and report on savings, delivery times, and quality.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with other departments (e.g., operations, finance, IT, marketing ) to understand their needs and align procurement activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field

• A minimum of 10 years of related experience; preferably within the FMCG sector or multinational company

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial position.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Thai.

• Strong planning, negotiation and contract management skills

• Understanding global procurement, customs, and import/export documentation.

• Understand long-term strategies, market analysis, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.

• Good track record in supply chain and people management

• Ability to uphold business requirements

• Ability to work independently and autonomously

• Demonstrate leadership skills to coach and facilitate service improvement, facilitate team behavior, and to effectively communicate shared vision and direction.

• Ability to think ‘outside-the-box’

• Digital Proficiency skill such as Excel, Presentation , procurement software, SAP system.
