About the Role

You'll develop and improve data center products, reference designs and technical standards that support consistent delivery across markets. Based permanently in Hong Kong, you'll work with Customer Solutions and Design Delivery to turn customer and market needs into practical, repeatable solutions. You'll contribute to concept design and solution frameworks, and coordinate consultants and technical partners rather than undertake all detailed design yourself. This is a technical product-planning role, not a commission-based sales position, suitable for candidates with either an electrical or mechanical engineering background.

Job Responsibilities

Product Planning

·       Develop data center products, reference designs and technical standards for consistent delivery across markets.

·       Maintain standard modules and templates for power, cooling, controls and supporting infrastructure.

·       Turn customer, operational, commercial and delivery needs into product requirements and roadmap priorities.

Customer Solutions

·       Work with Customer Solutions to define scalable, cost-effective solutions for artificial intelligence and other high-density workloads.

·       Review customization requests and recommend adaptations that balance customer and local requirements with global standards.

·       Support concept design, bids, tenders and technical workshops to communicate solutions to customers.

Design Delivery

·       Work with Design Delivery to make solutions buildable and maintainable across regions while preserving design intent.

·       Coordinate consultants, vendors and technical partners to align deliverables and resolve design interfaces.

·       Use feedback from design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations to improve product releases.

Technical Leadership

·       Compare technical options for reliability, scalability, efficiency, sustainability, delivery speed and total cost of ownership.

·       Align engineering, operations and commercial teams on technical decisions, and mentor engineers.

·       Track technologies, codes and standards, and maintain product documentation to guide design and release decisions.

Job Requirements

Technical Skills

·       A bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline, and 8+ years of relevant design and engineering experience.

·       Experience with concept design, technical solutions, system architecture or standardized design approaches that support repeatable products and reference designs.

·       Experience managing consultants, vendors and technical partners to coordinate deliverables and resolve design issues.

Soft Skills

·       Explain customer requirements, technical options and design decisions with stakeholders can assess proposals.

·       Assess trade-offs between technical performance, customer needs, cost, schedule and operations when recommending solutions.

·       Align stakeholders across functions and regions on technical decisions and coordinate contributions without relying on direct authority.

Nice to Have

·       Data center experience is strongly preferred; experience in mission-critical or large-scale infrastructure and multi-country projects is also valued.

·       Exposure to hyperscale, cloud, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing or colocation environments; experience with modular design, standardization or design governance; familiarity with liquid cooling, battery energy storage, advanced power architecture, renewable integration or intelligent controls.
