About This Role

• Lead a team of lawyers on complex government matters.
• Help guide Victoria's response to major court cases.

• Shape legal advice and support other lawyers to grow.
• Ongoing, full-time role earning $142,790 - $191,084 per year, plus super.

What You Will Do As manager, public law & litigation, you will lead lawyers who advise on government decisions and court cases. You will help ministers and the department resolve complex legal issues.

You Will

• provide clear legal and policy advice to ministers and the department
• manage sensitive court cases, including class actions and other major disputes
• research complex legal questions, interpret laws and guide the preparation of legal documents
• lead and mentor lawyers, plan workloads and build an inclusive team
• build strong working relationships across government to solve legal problems.

About You You must hold admission to practise law in Victoria or qualify for admission.

You Should Also Have

• strong legal skills to analyse complex issues, interpret laws and find sound solutions
• experience advising on public or administrative law, or working in civil or criminal litigation
• knowledge or experience of Victorian Government and Cabinet processes
• leadership skills to support a diverse team, adapt to change and build trust.
