About the role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive public relations and communication strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
• Coordinate corporate events, launches, stakeholder engagement programmes, CSR activities, and community outreach initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with media organizations, journalists, government agencies, industry stakeholders, and community groups.
• Prepare press releases, media statements, speeches, key messages, corporate publications, and communication materials.
• Manage media inquiries and coordinate interviews, press conferences, and media engagements.
• Monitor media coverage and public sentiment relating to the organization and industry.
• Lead crisis communication planning and execution, ensuring timely and effective responses to issues affecting the organization.
• Manage the organization's corporate image, reputation, and branding efforts.
• Support senior management in strategic communications and public affairs matters.
• Oversee digital communication channels and ensure consistency of corporate messaging.
• Prepare communication reports, media analysis, and stakeholder engagement assessments for management.

Requirements

Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, Corporate Communication, Marketing, Political Science, or related disciplines.
• Master's Degree or professional certification in communications or public affairs will be an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in public relations, corporate communications, media relations, or public affairs.
• Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies, managing media relations, and handling corporate communications initiatives.
• Experience in utilities, infrastructure, property development, government agencies, or public-listed companies will be an added advantage.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong media relations and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Proven crisis communication and reputation management experience.
• Strategic thinking and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong interpersonal, networking, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage sensitive issues professionally.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
• Additional skills in photography, videography, video editing, graphic design, and digital content creation will be an added advantage.
