Responsibilities

Ready To Own the QA Function That Determines What Ships — and What Doesn’t — Across the ATLAS Platform?

Why This Role Matters

Quality gates only work when someone owns them with rigor and authority. This role leads the entire QA function for ATLAS — defining testing standards, managing Quality Control Specialists, and overseeing every testing layer from sprint validation through production smoke testing. When defects escape to production or release confidence erodes, this is the role that diagnoses why and fixes it systematically.

What You'll Actually Do

Define and govern QA standards: Establish and maintain testing standards, quality gates, release-readiness criteria, and defect management practices across all ATLAS development work.

Lead end-to-end testing execution: Oversee functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, deployment, and production smoke testing across sprint cycles and releases — ensuring coverage is traceable to requirements and acceptance criteria.

Own the automated testing roadmap: Define automation coverage priorities, maintain scripts as Appian features evolve, and drive measurable growth in automated test coverage over time.

Coordinate and document UAT: Develop UAT scripts, coordinate testing with business end users, document results, and drive clear business acceptance before release.

Lead Tier 2 and Tier 3 validation: Own reproduction, documentation, prioritization, and retesting of Help Desk escalations requiring QA involvement.

Validate integrations: Test Appian workflows and integrations involving Airtable, RPA tools, APIs, data sources, and connected enterprise systems.

Track quality metrics and drive improvement: Monitor defects, escapes, coverage, cycle time, and recurring issues — using findings to implement preventive improvements across requirements, development, testing, and deployment.

Manage and develop the QA team: Lead, mentor, and grow Quality Control Specialists, building increasing capability, independence, and consistency across the team.

Partner across delivery teams: Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, support teams, and business stakeholders to surface and resolve quality risks before they reach production.
