Key Responsibilities

1. New Product Development (NPD)

• Collaborate with Marketing and Brand teams to develop and execute the NPD pipeline.
• Translate consumer and market requirements into commercially viable product concepts.
• Define development milestones and ensure timely execution of go-to-market plans.

2. Technical & Process Leadership

• Lead lab-scale, pilot-scale, and full-scale production trials.
• Provide expertise on ingredients, formulation technologies, and process improvements.
• Ensure new formulations are compatible with existing manufacturing infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot formulation and manufacturing-related technical challenges.

3. Regulatory & Compliance

• Ensure all formulations comply with BIS, FDA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical and regulatory documentation, including PIFs, MSDS, CoA, and Product Information Systems.
• Work closely with Regulatory Affairs and Quality teams to ensure compliance throughout the product development lifecycle.

4. Quality & Stability

• Ensure all formulations undergo appropriate stability testing as per applicable ICH guidelines.
• Collaborate with QA/QC teams to maintain product quality, consistency, and performance.
• Investigate and resolve product quality and stability-related issues.

5. Vendor & Raw Material Management

• Evaluate and approve new raw materials and vendors in collaboration with Procurement and QA.
• Identify and evaluate new ingredients, technologies, and formulation solutions.
• Stay updated on global trends and innovations in Personal Care, Oral Care, and Cosmetics.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Packaging, Production, Marketing, Procurement, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs teams for successful NPD launches.
• Provide support for existing products and manufacturing processes.
• Drive effective communication between R&D and cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: M.Sc / M.Pharm / B.Tech / M.Tech in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 10–15 years of relevant R&D experience within the Oral Care / Personal Care / Cosmetics FMCG industry.
• Strong hands-on experience in formulation development, scale-up, trials, stability testing, and product commercialization.
• Proven track record of developing and successfully launching market-ready products.
• Experience in Personal Care products is a must.
• Strong understanding of regulatory, quality, raw material, and manufacturing requirements.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
