MANAGER, RISK & COMPLIANCE

1. Quality Assurance:

• Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to maintain and enhance academic and operational quality standards across the university.
• Monitor and evaluate departmental and institutional performance against established quality benchmarks.
• Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance.

2. Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities affecting the university’s operations, financial health, and reputation.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies and contingency plans to mitigate risks.

3. Compliance Oversight:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
• Familiar with Malaysia Private Higer Education Act.
• Monitor changes in regulations and ensure timely updates and adjustments to university policies and procedures.
• Implementation and sustainment of a continuous improvement culture, update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons from quality concern.

4. Audit and Internal Controls:

• Establish and maintain effective internal control mechanisms to safeguard university assets and ensure operational integrity.
• Coordinate and oversee internal audits and assessments to evaluate compliance and effectiveness of controls.

5. Training and Education:

• Develop and deliver training programs and workshops on quality assurance, risk management, and compliance topics for university staff and faculty.
• Promote awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices.

6. Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and governing bodies on quality, risk, and compliance matters.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and records related to audits, compliance reviews, and corrective actions.
• Perform root cause analysis, resolve problems and produce written reports and make presentation.

7.​Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (faculty, staff, administrators) and external partners (regulatory agencies, auditors) to foster a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
• Serve as a resource and advisor on quality, risk, and compliance issues to university leadership and departments.
• Lead regular inspection meetings with representative from appropriate departments/school to establish an action plan for improving build quality.

8. Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.

9.  To ensure all practices are complied with the policy and procedures.

Job Requirement:

• Minimum Degree in Quality Assurance
• 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

• Ability to identify market segments, niches and potential markets.
• Willingness to do work after office hours/weekends/public holidays when required.
