Manager Software Development

Manages a team of resources - FTEs Contractors Offshore - that develops implements maintains and supports software products and applications using appropriate processes methodologies and technologies in compliance with SITA's policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the development, maintenance, and support of enterprise-scale software applications, integration services, and business-critical systems.
• Manage the design, enhancement, and delivery of software solutions utilizing Java, CoolGen, and related technologies, ensuring high levels of quality, security, performance, and reliability.
• Oversee software releases, system enhancements, defect resolution, and reporting capabilities while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Drive the analysis and resolution of complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions to support operational excellence.
• Manage the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including planning, resource allocation, estimation, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Promote the adoption of best practices, development standards, and process improvements to enhance delivery effectiveness and system maintainability.
• Work closely with architecture, infrastructure, operations, and project teams to support technology transformation initiatives and ensure software solutions continue to meet evolving business and customer needs.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years experience in a Software Engineering environment.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Strong software development and maintenance experience in enterprise-scale, mission-critical environments.
• Proven expertise in Java application development and support, with knowledge of modern software development principles and best practices.
• Experience with CoolGen development and maintenance is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of system integration concepts, APIs, web services, and distributed application architectures.
• Experience in troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex technical and production issues.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, change management, and quality assurance practices.
• Proficiency in SQL and database technologies, including data analysis and reporting solutions.
• Ability to design, develop, maintain, and optimize software applications, interfaces, and reporting capabilities.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and resource management skills with the ability to balance multiple initiatives and operational demands.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment supporting critical business operations and evolving customer requirements.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and verbal.
