Manager, Software Engineering - Identity Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Manager, Software Engineering - Identity Platform to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will lead a backend engineering team responsible for identity verification capabilities that support compliance, risk-based decisioning, and operational reliability. The manager will partner closely with compliance, product, operations, and regulatory stakeholders to shape platform direction and improve the systems that underpin secure customer onboarding and review workflows. This is an opportunity to guide technical strategy, strengthen execution, and drive automation across a complex, regulated environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $174,700 – $218,400 annually

Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete identity verification lifecycle, ensuring compliance and accuracy
• Build and operate KYC systems for identity verification and risk-based due diligence
• Implement AI-driven automation to streamline KYC/KYB decision-making processes
• Mentor the engineering team to improve productivity and system reliability
• Serve as a leader in customer and regulatory discussions, translating compliance issues into actionable insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define platform and identity strategy aligned with regulatory needs

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in a managerial role leading senior engineers
• Strong backend engineering skills, with proficiency in architecture and design trade-offs
• Experience across multiple product lines, including API services and ETL pipelines
• Ability to manage operational excellence, system reliability, and incident response
• Familiarity with AI/ML to enhance automation and workflows
• Strong ownership mentality with a focus on outcomes and ambiguity handling
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement
