Role Overview

Manager Software/Data Engineer will lead client-facing engagements through hands-on design, development, and delivery of AI and data-driven solutions for enterprise customers. This is a full-time role based out of our Gurgaon office. Around 80% of the role is hands-on engineering and delivery, and around 20% is people management, which means leading, mentoring and growing a small team of engineers. You will own technical decisions on your projects, work closely with client stakeholders, and collaborate day-to-day with onshore and offshore peers to bring high-impact AI and analytics work to life. The role DOES require Five days in the office. If you are looking for a 100% remote role, this is not for you – consulting is a contact sport!

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and build of end-to-end web application data and AI solutions, while staying hands-on across the stack
• Own the technical direction on your projects, including architecture decisions, code reviews and release quality
• Build and optimize secure, scalable APIs and microservices using Node.js, TypeScript and cloud-native principles
• Develop responsive, user-friendly web applications using React and Next.js, integrated with enterprise data systems
• Design and manage data models and databases, mainly on PostgreSQL and SQL Server
• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes, with CI/CD pipelines on Azure
• Implement AI-powered features in web applications using LLMs, Azure OpenAI, and Cognitive Services
• Drive AI-assisted software development lifecycle improvements across the team
• Help maintain frameworks for responsible AI governance and model monitoring
• Run project workstreams with onshore and offshore delivery teams, and raise risks and scope changes early
• Be the day-to-day technical point of contact for clients, with clear and consistent communication
• Manage a small team of engineers (around 20% of the role): run 1:1s, set goals, give regular feedback and support their growth
• Take part in hiring, interviews and onboarding of new team members
• Maintain high quality and consistency in code, solutions, and user experience

Qualifications

• 8 – 12 years of experience in software or data engineering, with at least 2 years of leading engineers or project teams
• Experience implementing AI solutions on any tech stack, with direct involvement in build and deployment
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js and React / Next.js
• Good working knowledge of PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD on Azure or AWS
• Working knowledge of large language models and their business applications
• Hands-on proficiency in developing custom AI solutions using Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, and ML services
• Experience integrating AI into existing enterprise applications.
• Experience managing client engagements and delivering high-quality, reliable solutions
• Experience mentoring or managing engineers, including feedback and performance conversations
• Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
• Excellent communication skills, with comfort collaborating across onshore and offshore teams
