Manager / Sr. Manager

Role & responsibilities

* Lead Environment, Safety & Sustainability functions and drive statutory and regulatory compliance.

* Ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, permits, and corporate standards.

* Monitor and manage waste, emissions, effluents, and environmental performance parameters.

* Drive sustainability initiatives related to energy conservation, water management, waste reduction, and resource optimization.

* Develop, review and implement safety policies, procedures, standards and safe work practices.

* Conduct HIRA, JSA, process safety reviews and other risk assessments.

* Ensure effective implementation of PTW, LOTO and other critical safety systems.

* Lead investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, including RCA and CAPA closure.

* Ensure contractor safety compliance and support project execution, shutdowns, commissioning and maintenance activities.

* Develop emergency response and crisis management plans and ensure firefighting system readiness.

* Drive safety training, toolbox talks, behavioural safety initiatives and safety culture programs.

* Maintain and continuously improve ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.

* Conduct internal audits and support external certification and regulatory audits.

* Track audit observations, compliance actions and ensure timely closure.

Preferred candidate profile

15+ years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety / Environment, Safety & Sustainability functions.

Strong experience in a factory / plant environment is mandatory.

Experience in Manufacturing / Engineering / Chemicals / FMCG / Pharma / Heavy Industry / Consumer Durables preferred.

Strong knowledge of environmental compliance, statutory requirements, permits and regulatory submissions.

Hands-on experience in HIRA, JSA, process safety, PTW, LOTO and incident investigation.

Strong exposure to contractor safety, project safety, shutdowns, commissioning and maintenance activities.

Experience in emergency preparedness, fire safety, mock drills and crisis management.

Strong exposure to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, audits and compliance.

Advanced Diploma / Diploma in Industrial Safety is mandatory.

Additional qualifications in Environment Management, Fire & Safety, Sustainability or Risk Management will be preferred.
