Manager - Statutory Audit

Job Summary We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Manager – Statutory Audit who is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with strong expertise in statutory audits, financial reporting, accounting standards, and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end statutory audit assignments, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and accounting standards, reviewing financial statements, coordinating with auditors and internal stakeholders, and identifying financial risks and control weaknesses. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, leadership abilities, and experience in managing audit teams and multiple assignments.

Key Responsibilities1. Statutory Audit Management

• Plan, manage, and execute statutory audit assignments in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and auditing standards.
• Lead end-to-end audit activities, including audit planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, review, and finalization.
• Review financial statements, general ledgers, trial balances, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure compliance with applicable provisions of the Companies Act, 2013, and relevant accounting and auditing standards.
• Review audit working papers, audit evidence, and supporting documentation.
• Identify financial discrepancies, accounting irregularities, control weaknesses, and potential compliance risks.
• Ensure timely completion and closure of statutory audits within defined deadlines.

• Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Review financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) or Accounting Standards (AS), as relevant.
• Review accounting policies, provisions, accruals, reconciliations, and financial disclosures.
• Evaluate compliance with statutory requirements relating to financial reporting and audit documentation.
• Coordinate with Finance and Accounts teams to resolve audit observations and discrepancies.
• Monitor changes in accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and statutory reporting obligations.
• Support preparation and finalization of annual financial statements and related disclosures.
• Audit Coordination & Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for statutory auditors and relevant internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Finance, Accounts, Taxation, Legal, and Operations teams for audit requirements.
• Manage audit schedules, information requests, supporting documents, and query resolution.
• Discuss audit findings with management and recommend corrective actions.
• Track audit observations, management responses, and closure of pending issues.
• Facilitate timely submission of financial information and supporting documentation.
• Team Management & Process Improvement
• Lead, supervise, and mentor audit team members.
• Allocate audit responsibilities and monitor team performance and deliverables.
• Review the quality and accuracy of audit work performed by team members.
• Standardize audit processes, checklists, documentation, and reporting procedures.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen internal financial controls and improve compliance.
• Provide guidance on complex accounting matters and audit-related issues.
