Manager, University Placement & Alumni Relations

Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) is looking for a dynamic and people-oriented professional to lead our University Placement & Alumni Relations Department (UPAD). We are seeking someone who is passionate about supporting students in their educational journeys while building meaningful and lasting relationships with our alumni community.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the University Placement & Alumni Relations Department.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the team to ensure effective and quality services to students and stakeholders.
• Support students in exploring university options and making informed decisions about their further education.
• Develop and implement initiatives to enhance university placement services and student support.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with universities, external partners, and other key stakeholders.
• Lead and develop meaningful alumni engagement programmes and activities.
• Work closely with the MCKL Alumni Society to strengthen the alumni community and encourage active alumni participation.
• Develop communications and engagement initiatives to keep alumni connected with the College.
• Explore opportunities for alumni to contribute to student engagement, university placement, career activities, and College initiatives.
• Monitor departmental performance, review processes, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Manage departmental planning, reporting, and budget to ensure effective use of resources.
• Support initiatives that contribute to the College's strategic objectives and explore opportunities for departmental growth.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in university placement, student services, education, alumni relations, counselling, or a related area will be an advantage.
• Proven experience in team leadership, people management, or coordinating a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, alumni, universities, and external stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple activities and priorities.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Passionate about supporting students and building meaningful relationships with alumni.
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• A strategic and forward-thinking mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
