What they need
e& UAE connects over 1 million vehicles on the road today and holds roughly 80% of the UAE connected-car market, serving many OEMs in the region. The portfolio sits within a 4 million-subscriber IoT base and is expanding from a UAE-only proposition to a regional and global one across e& opcos and partner operators.
Two shifts define the next three years and this role sits at the centre of both:
- Connectivity platform evolution : migrating OEM fleets from SGP.02 M2M eSIM to SGP.32 (IoT eSIM), scaling the in-house subscription-management stack (SM-DP with IDEMIA, SM-DP+/SM-SR with IDEMIA and Valid), and hardening multi-operator interconnects with AT&T, Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, KDDI, Cubic, Telenor and others.
- Autonomous mobility : supporting Dubai's RTA roadmap to 1,000+ driverless vehicles by 2028 (Baidu Apollo Go /Yoocar robotaxis, Neolix delivery pods) with ultra-low-latency 5G, V2Xlus the data, security and SLA frameworks autonomous operators require.
The Manager will be the technical product authority translating OEM and AV-operator requirements into platform capabilities, owning delivery with engineering and vendors.
Responsibilities Product ownership and roadmap
- Own the technical roadmap for the connected-car and AV connectivity portfolio; maintain a prioritised backlog with clear acceptance criteria and business cases.
- Lead the SGP.02 → SGP.32 migration programme: eUICC profile strategy, IPA/eIM architecture, OEM migration waves and backward-compatibility plans.
- Define product requirements for the connectivity management platforms (Cisco Jasper, Airlinq) and the in-house eSIM subscription-management stack, including APIs, rate plans, multi-APN and A2P services.
- Design and deliver AI-enabled capabilities on top of the connectivity offering (predictive diagnostics, anomaly and fraud detection, usage forecasting, self-service and support automation), from use-case scoping through production release.
OEM and AV-operator engagement
- Act as the technical counterpart for OEM connectivity teams (VW/Cubic, Tesla, GM, BMW, Stellantis, Chinese OEMs) and AV operators : requirements workshops, solution design, integration testing at the UAE test centre, and go-live.
- Lead technical RFI/RFP responses and solution architecture for new OEM onboardings and regional opco launches.
- Own the technical side of operator-to-operator integrations (SGP.02 interconnects, roaming steering, permanent-roaming alternatives) with AT&T, Vodafone, DT, KDDI, Telenor and others.
Delivery, vendors and operations
- Run delivery with internal engineering, network and IT teams and with vendors (IDEMIA, Thales, Valid, Cisco, Ericsson); manage sprints, release plans and UAT.
- Define and monitor service levels (L1–L4 incident tiers, RCA obligations, 24/7 NOC interfaces) and drive continuous improvement in platform availability and provisioning times.
- Own business-continuity and regulatory readiness for OEM fleets: roaming-disconnection scenarios, TDRA compliance, data residency, cybersecurity (UNECE R155/R156, ISO 21434) and AV-specific licensing requirements.
Data, automation and reporting
- Build automated dashboards and forecasting for subscriber growth, usage, revenue and platform KPIs; replace manual reporting with reliable data pipelines.
- Identify AI and automation opportunities across provisioning, diagnostics, anomaly detection and customer support, in coordination with the e& Ignite AI team.
Leadership
- Deputise in technical governance forums, vendor steering committees and OEM executive reviews.
- Coach squad members and junior product staff; set product-management standards (specs, PRDs, release notes, decision logs).
Qualifications
- 7–10 years in telecom, automotive or IoT, with at least 4 years as a product owner / product manager or solution architect on connectivity, telematics or eSIM products.
- Hands-on delivery of at least one OEM or large-fleet connectivity programme (onboarding, integration testing, launch, in-life operations).
- Working knowledge of Control Center and of a GSMA SGP.02 platform (SM-SR / SM-DP), including eSIM bootstrap orchestration.
- Demonstrated understanding of the OEM ecosystem: HQ vs regional connectivity decision-makers, Tier-1s, aggregators, importers and dealer networks.
- Proficient in using AI tools day to day and able to show at least one AI or automation solution implemented on top of a product or operational process.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Telecommunications or Software Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven ability to write technical product specs, build business case, run vendor workshops and present to OEM and executive audiences.
- Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage.
