As Managing Digital Editor, you will lead the editorial direction, content strategy and day-to-day publishing operations of the BRANZ Digital Engagement Platform, ensuring high-quality content reaches the people who need it most.

Working alongside leading researchers, scientists, engineers and industry experts, you'll transform complex technical information into engaging, practical and accessible content while helping grow audience engagement, subscriptions and commercial opportunities.

This is a senior, hands-on editorial leadership role without direct reports, offering the opportunity to influence content strategy, commissioning, publishing performance and audience growth across one of New Zealand's most respected sources of building knowledge.
 
About the Role
Reporting to the Content & Digital Engagement Team Leader, the Managing Digital Editor leads the editorial strategy, forward planning and publishing operations of the BRANZ Digital Engagement Platform.

You'll own the editorial calendar, content pipeline, contributor relationships, publication schedules and quality standards while using audience insights and content performance data to guide editorial decisions. You'll also create and commission original content that translates complex research and technical information into clear, practical plain English.

This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on content creation and editorial management, making it ideal for a senior publishing professional who enjoys both leading and doing.

You'll Bring

• Significant experience in a senior editorial, publishing or digital content role.

• Experience commissioning and managing contributors, including subject matter experts and freelancers.
