What they need

Managing Director – Scotland

Private equity-backed automotive services group

Central Scotland | Competitive six-figure package + bonus + equity

Mallory Partners is supporting an ambitious, private equity-backed automotive services group with the appointment of a Managing Director for its Scottish business.

Reporting directly to the Group CEO, the Managing Director will assume responsibility for an established, profitable multi-site operation. They will lead its commercial and operational performance while building the organisation, capability and infrastructure required to support the group’s longer-term ambitions in Scotland.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Driving sales, utilisation, productivity and profitability across a distributed site network
  • Improving customer experience and commercial performance at site level
  • Leading, engaging and developing the Scottish management team
  • Strengthening operational disciplines, management information and accountability
  • Using data, systems and technology to create a more effective and scalable operation
  • Supporting the successful integration and development of the Scottish business within the wider group

We are looking for a commercially minded multi-site leader who understands how to improve performance through a combination of people, customer service and disciplined operational execution.

Candidates may already be operating as a Managing Director, but this could also represent an excellent first MD appointment for a high-calibre Regional Director, Operations Director, Divisional Director ready to take broader P&L responsibility.

Automotive aftermarket experience would be advantageous but is not essential. We are also interested in candidates from vehicle rental, fleet, asset hire and other multi-site service businesses where utilisation, labour productivity, customer conversion and local commercial performance are important.

The successful candidate will be energetic, grounded and highly visible across the operation. They will combine commercial judgement and analytical capability with strong emotional intelligence and a modern, technology-enabled but people-led approach to leadership.

The role will be based within practical reach of Scotland’s Central Belt and will involve regular travel across the Scottish estate.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take the helm of a successful Scottish business, work alongside a highly credible leadership team and have a genuine hand in shaping—and sharing in—the value created during the group’s next phase.
