Mandarin Interpreter - Work From Home - Based in Thailand

About the role

This is a 100% work-from-home Interpreter role based in Thailand, providing consecutive interpretation during live conversations between Mandarin and English speakers. You will interpret live voice conversations accurately and professionally, support video interpretation after successfully completing the 3-month probation period, and facilitate communication between doctors and patients, bankers and clients, police officers, immigration officers, insurance representatives, social service providers, and other professionals across healthcare, banking, legal, insurance, government, and other essential services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consecutive interpretation during live conversations between Mandarin and English speakers
• Interpret live voice conversations accurately and professionally
• Support video interpretation after successfully completing the 3-month probation period
• Facilitate communication between doctors and patients, bankers and clients, police officers, immigration officers, insurance representatives, social service providers, and other professionals
• Maintain confidentiality, impartiality, and accuracy throughout every interaction
• Deliver excellent customer service while ensuring clear and effective communication
• Handle emergency and critical calls, ensuring clear communication between parties in high-pressure situations

About you

• Fluent in Mandarin (HSK 7 and above) and English (C1 level and above)
• Bachelor's degree
• Willing to relocate and be based in Thailand
• Able to work permanent night shifts
• Strong communication and active listening skills
• Excellent listening, memory and note-taking abilities to maintain high accuracy
• Able to focus on work, maintain emotional detachment, and always maintain neutrality and objectivity
• Able to quickly establish professional trust and credibility
• Able to strictly follow client instructions
• Reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps
