M&E Drafter

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented M&E Drafter to support our interior fit-out projects by preparing, updating, and coordinating Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) drawings. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, M&E engineers, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with project requirements, design specifications, and site conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update M&E drawings for interior fit-out and commercial renovation projects, including lighting, power, air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV), plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems, as required.
• Produce detailed shop drawings, coordinated layout plans, sections, and installation details based on design drawings, specifications, and site measurements.
• Coordinate M&E drawings with architectural, interior design, structural, and other building services drawings to identify and resolve clashes.
• Liaise with project managers, M&E engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to incorporate design changes and technical requirements.
• Conduct site measurements and verify existing site conditions to ensure drawings reflect actual conditions.
• Revise drawings according to site instructions, consultant comments, and project requirements.
• Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion, reflecting actual installation conditions.
• Ensure drawings are properly documented, updated, and submitted within project timelines.
• Support the project team in resolving drawing discrepancies and technical coordination issues.

About you

• Diploma in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in M&E drafting, preferably in interior fit-out, commercial renovation, or construction projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit or BIM software is an advantage.
• Familiar with M&E systems, construction drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Able to read and interpret architectural, interior design, and M&E drawings.
• Good understanding of site coordination and the sequence of interior fit-out works.
• Meticulous, organised, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Able to manage multiple drawings and meet project deadlines.
• Willing to attend site visits when required.
• Experience in office, retail, hospitality, F&B, or other commercial interior fit-out projects.
