M&E Manager (Mechanical & Electrical)

Job Description

• Lead and manage the overall Mechanical & Electrical (M&E/MEP) works throughout the project, including planning, installation, testing and commissioning (T&C), ensuring works are completed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project requirements.
• Manage and coordinate M&E contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and site teams, providing technical direction and resolving coordination issues to ensure smooth project execution and timely completion.
• Review and coordinate engineering drawings, shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, technical documents and M&E-related deliverables, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, applicable standards and authorities' requirements.
• Plan and monitor M&E work programmes, manpower, materials, equipment and resources, closely tracking project progress, quality, cost and schedule, and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
• Lead site inspections, technical coordination meetings and progress meetings, identify and resolve M&E technical issues, non-conformities and interface clashes with architectural, structural and other building works.
• Oversee the testing, commissioning, handover and completion of M&E systems, ensuring proper documentation, T&C records, as-built drawings and relevant reports are completed, while maintaining compliance with project safety, quality and company requirements.

Job Requirement

• Possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, M&E/MEP Engineering or a related technical field, with relevant professional qualifications being an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant M&E/MEP experience, with proven experience managing M&E works for building construction projects. Experience in high-rise, commercial, industrial, factory or other large-scale building projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of M&E/MEP systems, construction methods, testing and commissioning, engineering drawings, technical submissions, applicable Malaysian standards, codes of practice and authority requirements.
• Proven experience in managing M&E contractors and subcontractors, coordinating with consultants and other disciplines, and leading site teams to achieve project programme, quality and performance requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant project management/documentation software, with strong technical, problem-solving, communication and reporting skills. Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Willing to be based at the project site, work extended hours and, when required by project activities, work on Sundays and Public Holidays. Willingness to travel as required is essential.
