M&E Quantity Surveyor / M&E Engineer (Chinese Speaking)

Key Responsibilities / 主要职责

• Bill of Quantities (BQ) & Estimation: Prepare accurate M&E Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates, and tender documentation for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and extra-low voltage (ELV) systems.
• Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitor and control project M&E costs, budget expenditures, and material take-offs against project baselines.
• Tendering & Subcontracting: Assist in calling tenders, evaluating subcontractor/supplier quotations, conducting price comparisons, and preparing subcontract agreements.
• Variation Orders & Claims: Measure, value, and negotiate M&E variation orders (VOs), site instructions, and progress claims with clients and subcontractors.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate closely with Chinese management, local consultants, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication (fluent in Mandarin and English).

Requirements / 任职要求

• Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written) to effectively communicate with project stakeholders and management.
• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related disciplines.
• Experience:
• Minimum 2 to 5 years of working experience in building or infrastructure construction, focusing on M&E cost management or M&E site engineering.
• Core Competency: Must be proficient in preparing Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost take-offs, and tender pricing for M&E services.
• Flexibility: Candidates with a formal M&E QS background are preferred; however, experienced M&E Engineers who are skilled in cost estimation and BQ preparation are strongly welcomed.
• Local Knowledge: Familiarity with Malaysian construction standards, local sub-contract market rates, and statutory requirements.
