MANUAL & AUTOMATION TESTER

MANUAL & AUTOMATION TESTER is needed to perform the following duties:

Design applications

• Work with stakeholders to gather application requirements.
• Groom the requirements to create stories.
• Work with Business Analysts and Product Owners to understand the stories.
• Clarify the detailed user and implementation requirements.
• Spike on the stories and analyze them during sprint planning.
• Work on creating high level design to come up with the implementation architecture diagrams.
• Work with senior engineers and development managers to get feedback on the design.
• Iterate over the design based on the feedback and get consensus approvals from stakeholders.
• Work on implementation details of the feature by creating low level design while highlighting details components and implementation ideas.
• Work with stakeholders and other engineers to get low level design review and approvals.
• Detailed Analysis of the requirements to understand the functionalities and acceptance criteria.
• Determine dependencies with Third Party Vendors (If any), Environment, Tools/Technologies Used, Integration points and Development details.

Develop software applications and write unit tests to validate the functionalities.

• Analyze the application and requirement and define the scope of the development. In scope vs out of scope.
• Write code logics to develop the feature functionalities.
• Define the problem scenarios by participating in the product design reviews and provide input on functional requirements, product designs, and testing schedules.
• Raise code reviews for the feature developments.
• Work with other developers to review their code and provide feedback.
• Determine the unit testing efforts.
• Write unit test cases to test the feature functionality.
• Create application mocks for third party dependencies.
• Participate in all Agile ceremonies which includes Story Grooming, Sprint Planning etc.
• Document the risk and issues and create the mitigation plan.
• Define the exit criteria.
• Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
• Perform the defect triage.

Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.

· Identify and select test cases for automation and organize, manage, and create automation resources.

· Create automation test plan and configure Selenium Test Environment for setup.

· Identify hard to test scenario and provide solution to test the same.

· Develop automation framework using Java, Selenium WebDriver and TestNG, Cucumber to automate functional testing scenarios.

· Executing selenium and karate automation scripts as part of functional, regression and performance testing

· Create scripts for API testing using Karate framework and payload validation engine.

· Create, enhance, debug, and run test cases.

· Create SQL queries using TOAD and SQL developer to fetch data from Oracle database for real time validation and data driven testing.

· Create test scenarios for each requirement covering boundary value, positive and negative flow, to ensure end to end validation is performed.

· Create plan and execute the automated test scripts as a regression suite after the defect/bugs gets fixed.

· Source code (automation scripts) management by GIT Version control tool

· Designing and Enhancing Test Automation framework using Selenium Web driver with Java, TestNG, Cucumber and Page Object Model.

Document and work on software defects using a bug tracking system.

• Work with QA on the defects in HP ALM tool and tag the defects to the corresponding test case in test Lab for tracking purpose.

· Ensure to include defect priority and severity that would help the team to pick the right defects on time.

· Set up defect triage between the team, QA, and BSA’s to discuss on the same.

• Follow up with the QA team to get the defects validated and closed within the defined timelines.

· Conduct Daily / weekly meetings with the clients and the team to triage the defects and plan the testing effort.

· Organize and monitor the defect management process using HP ALM and JIRA and report.

· Defect matrix report is maintained for each major release to monitor the growth of the postproduction defects.

Bachelor's Degree is required in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Technology or Computer Information Systems.

Pay: $45.00 - $52.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
