Manual QA Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing web and mobile applications, identifying defects, and ensuring a high standard of product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Review requirements and technical specifications
• Create detailed test plans and test cases
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing
• Test web and mobile applications across different browsers and devices
• Identify, document, and track bugs using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
• Verify bug fixes and conduct regression testing
• Perform basic API testing using Postman or similar tools
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Maintain QA documentation, checklists, and testing processes
• Track testing progress and report quality metrics

Required Skills

• 1+ years of hands-on experience in manual/functional software testing
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies and testing processes
• Experience writing clear and comprehensive test cases and test plans
• Hands-on experience testing web and mobile applications
• Familiarity with JIRA, TestRail, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
• Understanding of APIs, client-server architecture, and databases
• Knowledge of SDLC and STLC
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Good to Have

• Basic understanding of test automation concepts
• Knowledge of SQL for data validation
• Exposure to performance or usability testing
• Understanding of accessibility testing
• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced product environment
