About Empower ABA

Empower ABA is a U.S.-based healthcare organization providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with autism.

As we continue growing, we're developing our own software platform to support our clinical and administrative operations, including client enrollment, scheduling, insurance processes, documentation, and staff management.

We're looking for a detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer based in the Dominican Republic to help ensure our platform remains reliable, functional, and user-friendly.

About the Role

As our Manual QA Engineer, you'll work closely with our development team and internal departments to identify software issues, validate new features, and ensure a smooth user experience.

You'll also collaborate with non-technical teams to understand their needs and translate them into clear testing scenarios and acceptance criteria.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases for web applications.
• Perform end-to-end, functional, exploratory, and regression testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Validate bug fixes and new features before production releases.
• Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve reported issues.
• Gather requirements from internal departments, including Clinical, Intake, Billing, and HR.
• Translate business requirements into acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
• Maintain organized testing documentation and provide weekly QA updates.
• Help ensure software functionality, accuracy, and a positive user experience.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional experience in manual QA testing of web applications.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher (written and spoken).
• Experience creating test cases, executing test plans, and documenting defects.
• Familiarity with browser developer tools and cross-browser testing.
• Experience using issue-tracking platforms, such as GitHub Issues or similar tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow structured testing processes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
• Reliable internet connection, personal computer, and availability during U.S. Eastern working hours.

Nice to Have

• Basic SQL knowledge.
• Experience with mobile browser testing.
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman.
• Basic exposure to Playwright, Cypress, or other testing automation tools.
• Previous experience working with healthcare or insurance software.
• ISTQB Foundation certification or similar qualifications.
• Native or fluent Spanish proficiency.

What We Offer

• Monthly Compensation: USD $1,100–$1,200 net.
• Work Arrangement: 100% remote from the Dominican Republic.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM New York time (10:00 AM–7:00 PM Dominican Republic time during U.S. standard time).
