About the role

HORIZONTECH INDUSTRIES SDN BHD is seeking a skilled Manual Turning operator to join our manufacturing team on a full-time basis in Perai, Penang. This is a crucial operational role within our production facility, where you will be responsible for operating manual turning machines to produce precision components. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining our high standards of quality and productivity, making this position integral to our manufacturing operations.

What you'll be doing

• Operating manual turning machines to manufacture precision components according to technical drawings and specifications
• Setting up and calibrating manual turning equipment to ensure accurate machining and component tolerances
• Monitoring machine operations and making real-time adjustments to maintain quality standards
• Inspecting finished components to verify they meet dimensional and quality requirements
• Maintaining accurate records of production output, machine performance and quality metrics
• Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of turning machines to ensure optimal functionality
• Identifying and reporting equipment malfunctions or defects to supervisory staff
• Adhering strictly to all health and safety regulations and workplace protocols
• Collaborating with team members to meet production targets and delivery schedules

What we're looking for

• Proven experience operating manual turning machines in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, blueprints and dimensional tolerances
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometres and gauges
• Knowledge of machining principles, cutting speeds and feeds relevant to turning operations
• Ability to maintain consistent attention to detail and produce high-quality work
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle equipment safely
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following safety procedures
• Preferred: Relevant certifications in machine operation or manufacturing engineering
