Manufacturing & Assembly Technician

About the role

Real Steel Group is looking for a Manufacturing & Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team in Queanbeyan. In this position you'll support our production team across a variety of workshop activities, including assembly, fabrication support, material handling, and operating tools and equipment. No trade qualifications or previous workshop experience are required. Full training will be provided to the right person. We're looking for someone who is practical, reliable, willing to learn and happy to get involved wherever they're needed. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in manufacturing, with on-the-job training and the opportunity to take on more technical responsibilities as your skills and experience grow.

Key responsibilities

• Assembling components and finished products
• Assisting tradespeople with fabrication, production and general workshop activities
• Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
• Operating basic machinery and equipment, with training provided where required
• Preparing components and materials for production and assembly
• Reading and following basic drawings, plans and job instructions
• Loading, unloading, moving and storing materials
• Keeping work areas, tools and equipment clean, organised and safe
• Assisting with packing and handling finished components
• Following quality assurance, quality control and workplace safety procedures
