About The Role:

The Manufacturing Compliance Engineer is responsible for independently verifying that our manufacturing processes, quality controls, inspections, testing, and required documentation are being completed as defined. This position serves as an independent set of eyes on the plant floor, helping ensure that established safety, quality, operational, and compliance requirements are consistently followed. This is a developmental role for a future site Process Engineer or Quality Manager.

The Manufacturing Compliance Engineer will conduct audits, perform product and material testing, review manufacturing and quality data, verify inspection equipment and records, and identify gaps between required processes and actual plant practices.

This role is not responsible for owning the plant's operational KPIs. Rather, the position verifies that the activities, controls, and data supporting those KPIs are being completed accurately and consistently. This role will report to the site Quality Manager.

What You'll Do:

  • Plant Audits & Verification
  • Conduct routine audits of manufacturing processes, work areas, and required controls.
  • Verify that required inspections, checks, and process steps are being completed and are accurate
  • Compare actual plant practices against established procedures, standards, and specifications.
  • Document audit findings and communicate identified gaps to the appropriate owner.
  • Follow up on corrective actions to verify completion and effectiveness.
  • Product & Material Testing for verification purposes
  • Perform routine testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products according to established procedures.
  • Verify that raw materials meet required specifications before being released for production.
  • Review QC data and production records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Participate in robust quality, process engineering, and operations training program. This could include visits to customers/suppliers/labs; short term production floor training (this could include training in off hours) and more.

Succession Planning

This role is designed to be a feeder role for other salary positions within the Arclin network. As applicable positions become available (Process Engineer/ Quality Manager), individuals in this role will be assigned appropriately.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a strategic thinker, planner, able to drive continuous improvement and achieve results.
  • Firm understanding of KPI’s and delivering results.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers including MS Outlook, Excel (i.e. pivot tables, formula, conditional formatting etc), and Word.
  • Possess high professional ethics, dependability, good judgment and ability to take decisive action
  • Adhere to company safety and quality standards
  • Walking and climbing stairs in a plant environment
  • Exposure to weather elements
  • On call – carries a cell phone and responds to after hour emergencies
  • Must be able to relocate to a different Arclin facility upon an applicable role availability.
