What to Expect

The Vehicle Manufacturing Controls team is expanding its scope to include the electrical design and the management of electrical equipment fabrication, installation, and commissioning for new manufacturing lines to support the overall mission of building a world of amazing abundance. You will work closely with internal stakeholders (infrastructure, equipment design team, process design team, automation, purchasing, and program management), external contractors, and vendors to deliver an integrated manufacturing solution. EPLAN experience is important in this role.

What You'll Do

• Review line layout concepts to finalize electrical scope
• Transform concept layouts/designs into fabrication and installation drawings
• Utilize EPLAN for design and development
• Review electrical drawings and calculate power loads
• Design and implement equipment safety per local and international codes and standards
• Coordinate, schedule, and manage electrical installation and commissioning activities
• Support internal teams and third parties to obtain required permits
• Travel as needed (domestic and international) for acceptance tests and equipment buy-offs
• Develop tools for expediting project deliverables

What You'll Bring

• Proficiency in design and review of electrical controls, network, and power distribution systems
• Knowledge of electrical standards including NFPA and UL
• 3+ years of industry experience in electrical engineering
• Experience in large-scale construction management involving multi-trade and tight timelines
• Experience in site safety management of electrical installations including LOTO and commissioning procedures
• Experience creating and maintaining project documentation, drawings, reports, tools, and templates to accelerate deliverables
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience
