Description JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer

DEPARTMENT: Engineering

REPORTS TO: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

POSITION SUMMARY : Provides technical support related to specific products and production lines. Share ownership of the product performance and production line efficiencies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Understand the product and its intended operation (form, fit and function). Assist production, maintenance, and quality in the debug of production processes.
• Preparation/revisions of Process Flow Diagrams, Operation sheets, and Standing Operating Procedures (SOP's).
• Monitor and analyze production processes to improve performance, efficiency, and reject rates.
• Support resolution of technical issues, and report on all current technical issues and status during weekly meetings and / or management reviews.
• Participate in Failure Analysis efforts related to production issues, performance issues, and critical characteristics.
• Generate Requests for Process Change forms and manage them through the approval process.
• Main internal technical point of contact for assigned programs.
• Support Configuration Control of the Technical Data Packages associated with the products produced.
• Define process control (including SPC) requirements for production processes.
• Participate in risk assessment for production operations.
• Participate in Build Readiness Reviews (BRR’s), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR’s) and Production Readiness Reviews (PRR’s).
• Participate in line set-up including layout, flow, equipment, storage, etc.
• Create / Lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for assigned programs.
• Support customer technical requests and questions; provide resultant effects to production processes and performance
• Support / assist Quality and Purchasing in resolution of supplier issues
• Identify Key Characteristics and Key Process Parameters for assigned programs.
• Production daily rate improvement/areas that constrain meeting monthly requirements.
• Determine optimal line staffing to maximize labor efficiency.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

POSITION TYPE This is a Salaried-Exempt full-time position.

TRAVEL Travel (less than 10% of work time).

Required Education And Experience Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Industrial preferred).
