This position works closely with Operations, Product Engineering, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, Tool Room personnel, suppliers, and production employees to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, manufacturability, and process reliability.

The Manufacturing Engineer provides hands-on technical support for manufacturing processes from new product introduction through sustaining production. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, evaluate, document, and improve manufacturing methods, assembly processes, test methods, tooling, fixtures, equipment, and work-cell layouts.
  • Troubleshoot product and process issues involving materials, equipment, tooling, quality, capacity, workflow, or operator methods and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing, data analysis, and continuous-improvement methods to reduce waste, variation, defects, bottlenecks, cycle time, and manufacturing cost.
  • Create and maintain ERP manufacturing data and production documentation, including bills of materials, routings, labor standards, work instructions, test procedures, and related records.
  • Coordinate and implement Engineering Change Orders and ensure affected materials, tooling, documentation, training, and production processes are updated.
  • Review drawings, specifications, tolerances, and product designs for manufacturability, testability, quality, completeness, and cost.
  • Plan production sequences, workforce utilization, material flow, capacity, ergonomics, equipment placement, and workspace layouts.
  • Design manufacturing fixtures and tooling and work with internal and external resources to fabricate, validate, and maintain them.
  • Evaluate, specify, source, install, qualify, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, materials, parts, and services.
  • Conduct process-capability, manufacturing, and product testing and evaluate results using appropriate statistical methods.
  • Support electronic assembly operations, manufacturing tests, failure analysis, corrective actions, and product-quality activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to production personnel on processes, equipment, work instructions, quality requirements, and safe work practices.
