What they need

Manufacturing Engineer In2tec Ltd
Location: Kettering, UK - Office based
Package: £35,000 DPE
Reports to: Head of Design and Research

In2tec Ltd is an innovative UK-HQ electronics manufacturer, specialising in advanced technologies including Flexi-hibrid™, and ReUSE® and ReCYCLE®. We work with leading customers across niche automotive, industrial, defence, aerospace, medical, and high-reliability markets.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced, proactive, and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. Working alongside electronics, mechanical and firmware engineers, you will play a key role in translating innovative product designs into robust, efficient and scalable manufacturing processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys bridging the gap between product development and production, ensuring all products are designed and introduced into manufacture efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and control.

The role will involve close collaboration with the Engineering Manager, Operations Manager, suppliers and the wider engineering team to support New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing documentation, process development, risk management and product lifecycle control. The role aligns with established company engineering and quality operating procedures, including DFMEA and PFMEA and control planning activities.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Introduction & Manufacturing

· Support the transition of new products from development into mainstream manufacture.

· Work with the Operations Manager to develop and implement NPI processes, manufacturing methods and process controls.

· Aid supplier selection, production readiness and process validation activities.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency and cost reduction.

Manufacturing Documentation & Product Data

· Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, assembly processes, test procedures, inspection criteria and production records.

· Manage engineering changes, document control and product revision activities.

· Maintain accurate product structures, bills of materials and manufacturing data within the ERP system.

Quality & Risk Management

· Support DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans and production quality requirements.

· Identify manufacturing risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.

· Participate in root cause investigations and continuous improvement programmes.

Supplier & Production Support

· Work with suppliers to ensure technical requirements, manufacturability and production readiness are achieved.

· Support pilot builds, production trials and ongoing manufacturing activities.

· Assist with supplier qualification and performance improvement activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Work closely with electronics, mechanical and firmware engineers to ensure products are designed for manufacture and assembly, including test and validation platforms.

· Support projects throughout development, validation and production phases.

· Contribute to technical reviews and project meetings.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Requirements

· HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.

· Experience within a manufacturing, production engineering or NPI environment.

· Strong technical documentation (Microsoft Office), problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows and quality systems.

· Experience with ERP systems and product data management.

· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.

· Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Requirements

· Experience within electronics manufacturing, electromechanical assembly or printed electronics.

· Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans and PPAP.

· Experience managing Bills of Materials and engineering change processes.

· Understanding of ISO 9001 and continuous improvement methodologies.

· Supplier development and manufacturing process validation experience.

· Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001 and electronic assembly standards.

Personal Attributes

· Self-motivated, organised and detail oriented.

· Practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.

· Collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset.

· Able to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results.
