What they need

Fabrication/Manufacturing Engineer - Data Centers

Our client is a fast-growing data center and power infrastructure company building out large-scale facilities across Texas. To keep pace with demand, they're expanding their engineering team and looking for a Fabrication & Manufacturing Engineer who can design, optimize, and scale the production of critical infrastructure components.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who wants to move beyond theory and see their work deployed in real, mission-critical facilities.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and optimize fabrication and manufacturing processes for data center and power infrastructure components, such as enclosures, racks, skids, busway, and modular systems
  • Create and review fabrication drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and technical specifications
  • Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) with engineering and design teams
  • Work with internal shops and external fabricators to ensure quality, cost, and schedule targets are met
  • Evaluate and qualify vendors, materials, and manufacturing methods
  • Implement quality control procedures, inspection criteria, and testing protocols
  • Troubleshoot production issues and drive root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Identify opportunities to standardize, reduce lead times, and improve cost efficiency
  • Collaborate with field operations and construction teams to ensure products integrate smoothly on-site
  • Maintain documentation to support compliance, safety, and traceability requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or production engineering
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes, including welding, machining, sheet metal, and assembly
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and quality standards
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma principles
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Comfortable splitting time between the office, fabrication shop, and job sites

Nice to Have

  • Experience in data center, electrical equipment, or power infrastructure manufacturing
  • Familiarity with switchgear, transformers, PDUs, or modular/prefab power systems
  • Knowledge of UL, NEC, NEMA, or ISO standards
  • Experience with ERP or PLM systems
  • Background in prefabrication or modular construction
  • Welding or fabrication certifications (AWS) or Six Sigma Green Belt
