About the Opportunity

Precision Talent Partners is conducting a search for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join an established precision manufacturing organization specializing in CNC-machined components.

This is a highly visible, hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of engineering, machining, quality, and production. Rather than sitting removed from the manufacturing floor, this individual will work closely with machinists, quality technicians, and fellow engineers to develop, troubleshoot, and continuously improve machining processes from initial customer drawing through production. The Manufacturing Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager and have meaningful ownership over process performance, manufacturability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • This role offers the opportunity to directly influence how complex precision components are manufactured.
  • You'll have visibility across the full manufacturing process and the ability to see your engineering decisions translate directly to the shop floor.
  • For an engineer who enjoys solving real-world machining challenges, developing practical solutions, and continuously improving manufacturing processes, this position provides both technical depth and meaningful ownership.
  • The ideal candidate will be a technically capable engineer who is equally comfortable reviewing a drawing, developing a machining process, and working directly with machinists on the production floor.
  • You'll bring curiosity, resourcefulness, and a continuous-improvement mindset while being comfortable taking ownership when a manufacturing challenge doesn't have an obvious answer.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer who wants to have a visible, hands-on impact on both the engineering process and the performance of the manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

Process Development

  • Review customer drawings and specifications to support quoting and establish manufacturing timelines.
  • Develop routers, setup instructions, and detailed end-to-end process documentation.
  • Determine effective machining strategies, tooling, and fixturing for CNC-manufactured components.
  • Translate engineering requirements into repeatable, efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Production & Engineering Support
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance to machinists and production teams.
  • Troubleshoot machining and manufacturing challenges and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Take ownership of process performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and manufacturability.
  • Manage engineering projects and competing priorities in support of customer requirements and company objectives.
  • Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance product quality and inspection reliability.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
  • Develop solutions focused on preventing recurring manufacturing and quality issues.
  • Partner with quality and production teams to maintain strong manufacturing and quality standards.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience working within a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Mastercam, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes and develop practical solutions in a production environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with ITAR-controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working within ISO 9000, AS9100, or similar quality management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of machining strategies, cutting tools, workholding, and fixturing.
