Job title

Manufacturing Engineer

Description

Working in Oosterzele? Check out our open vacancy for a Manufacturing & Automation Engineer at Rf-Technologies here!

At Rf-Technologies, we design innovative products that provide our customers with efficient passive fire protection. We are a dynamic family business, with our decision centre in Oosterzele, achieving healthy annual growth. To continue this positive trend, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineer to strengthen our team.

As part of our Group Operations team, you will be a key player in the industrialization of our products and the optimization of our operational flows. You are a key driver of our continuous improvement culture, applying lean principles to make our operations smarter, faster, and more efficient. Your role will focus on either process & product industrialization and manufacturing & automation technology.

Responsibilities

  • As a project leader, you will be the crucial link between R&D, purchasing, and production. Your goal is to bring new developments into our factories and have them produced in the most efficient and lean way possible.
  • You lead the industrialization of new or adapted products, organizing and improving production pre-series until the process is completely stable and ready for mass production.
  • You actively steer, implement, and follow up on lean manufacturing projects (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping), and identify opportunities to eliminate waste and improve flow in our existing production processes.
  • Optimizations on existing processes are guided on a project-based manner, by input from production, R&D, and sales colleagues. For practical/technical input, you can always call on our process technician.
  • You analyze production data and map process flows to identify bottlenecks, reduce cycle times, and improve overall process stability.
  • You guide the department specialists through the set-up of new products/changes in the ERP software (Microsoft Dynamics 365), ensuring all master data is perfectly aligned with the optimized process.
  • You supervise the transfer of existing production processes to our site in Slovakia, working closely with the local process engineers to ensure a harmonized way of working.
  • You create and validate the work instructions for new processes and adjust where necessary.
  • You identify opportunities for automation and technical improvements in our existing machinery and production lines to increase efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • You collaborate on automation and investment projects, contributing to all phases.
  • You stay informed about the latest manufacturing technologies and how they can be applied within our plants.
  • You can correctly interpret technical (3D) drawings and electrical/mechanical schematics.

The Manufacturing Engineer is part of the Group Operations team and is managed by the Group Engineering Manager. You will be working in an environment where continuous improvement, innovation, and digitalization are highly encouraged.

Qualifications

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Business Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a similar technical field.
  • A first experience (1-3 years) in a production environment (as a process, lean, or manufacturing engineer) is a strong plus, but we explicitly encourage ambitious recent graduates to apply.
  • You have a demonstrable knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke) and a passion for continuous process improvement.
  • Experience with project work or process optimizations in a manufacturing environment is highly valued.
  • You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a hands-on mentality.
  • You are structured, try to achieve your objectives within the set deadlines, and make timely adjustments where necessary.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must. You are eager to master business systems like our ERP package (Microsoft Dynamics 365) and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with PLC controls, robotics, or CNC machinery is a strong asset but not a mandatory requirement.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.

Our offer

  • 40-hour working week with sliding hours, entitling you to 12 ADV days.
  • Possibility of a company car and/or bicycle.
  • Attractive remuneration adapted to your knowledge, competences, and experience.
  • Electronic meal vouchers, hospitalisation insurance, group insurance, CAO90 bonus...
  • Traffic jam-free environment in the Wetteren region.
