Manufacturing Engineer - CNC Programmer

CNC Lathe, CNC mill programming/Setup/operator

Job shop looking for a skilled CNC lathe/ Mill programmer/ Setup person who can write CNC programs and work with our machinists to setup our lathes and mills. We are located just outside of beautiful Elgin SC. We are 10miles east of Columbia and 10 miles west of Camden.

We have Doosan and Haas machines in our Elgin Plant.

Must be able to:

Understand and program in G Code, 3 axis mills, Multi axis lathes or both.

Setup a CNC lathe or Mill without assistance if given a blueprint.

select tooling, gages and fixtures needed for what we make.

Experience with Y axis lathes and live tooling would be a plus.

Experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 would be a plus.

Our SC plant is small. Right now we have 2 mills and 5 lathes on the chip cutting side of the plant. Our average job runs 3-4 days, so we set up machines every day. This is a full-time day shift job, Monday through Friday.

We expect the person in this position to write new programs and maintain existing programs. You will assist our machinists in setups and you will do some yourself. We expect jobs to run better and faster as time goes along. We expect you to work with our machinists so they continue to improve. If you have no programing to do, if we have very low volume jobs or if we need help, we expect you to pitch in occasionally to help run machines yourself.

Alexander Screw Products is based out of Indianapolis Indiana. We have around 100 people total between all our locations. Along with the chip cutting machines we do Laser cutting, turret punching, welding, bending and powder coat painting in South Carolina. our SC plant is between 10 and 15 people total.
