What they need

Die Craft Machining & Engineering – Cincinnati, OH
Full-Time | Day Shift

About the Position

Die Craft Machining & Engineering is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer / Quality Engineer to join our growing precision manufacturing operation.

This is a hands-on position designed for someone who enjoys working directly with machinists, programmers, inspectors, customers, and management to solve real manufacturing problems.

This is not a position where you will spend your entire day behind a desk.

Our ideal candidate can move comfortably between manufacturing engineering and quality—reviewing customer drawings in the morning, helping develop a machining process or fixture in the afternoon, and assisting Quality with an inspection or dimensional issue when needed.

As Die Craft continues to grow and invest in larger and more advanced machining capabilities, we need additional technical resources to support our engineering and quality departments.

What You'll Do

The person in this role will support both Engineering and Quality, with responsibilities including:

  • Review customer drawings, models, specifications, and revision levels
  • Create and modify 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings
  • Develop fully dimensioned process and shop drawings
  • Assist with manufacturing process development and planning
  • Support CNC machinists and programmers with technical questions
  • Assist with fixture and workholding design
  • Review GD&T requirements and help determine practical manufacturing and inspection methods
  • Support reverse-engineering projects from existing components
  • Assist with inspection planning and dimensional verification
  • Perform or assist with CMM and other dimensional inspections
  • Help investigate nonconforming parts and manufacturing problems
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Assist with first-piece, first-article, and in-process inspections
  • Support PPAP/FAI documentation when required
  • Help maintain engineering and quality documentation within our ERP/QMS
  • Support internal and external audit preparation
  • Assist with equipment layouts, machine installations, foundation layouts, and other facility engineering projects
  • Work directly with production personnel to solve problems and improve processes

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude who understands how parts are actually made.

A good candidate may come from a manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, CNC machining, programming, inspection, or quality background.

Experience in several of the following areas would be especially valuable:

  • CNC machining and precision manufacturing
  • CAD modeling and manufacturing drawings
  • GD&T
  • Blueprint reading
  • CMM programming or operation
  • Inspection equipment and dimensional metrology
  • Fixture/workholding design
  • Manufacturing process development
  • Root-cause analysis and corrective action
  • ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
  • PPAP and/or First Article Inspection
  • ERP/MRP systems

Experience with ProShop ERP is a plus but is not required.

Who Will Be Successful Here

We aren't necessarily looking for someone who checks every box.

We are looking for a technically capable person who is curious, organized, hands-on, and willing to learn.

You should be comfortable walking onto the shop floor, talking with a machinist about a manufacturing problem, looking at the print and model, and helping determine the best path forward.

You should also understand that in a job shop environment, priorities can change quickly. The ability to manage multiple projects, communicate clearly, and determine what needs attention first is important.

Most importantly, we want someone who enjoys manufacturing and wants to become a key technical resource within the company.

Why Die Craft?

Die Craft is a growing precision machining, welding, fabrication, and engineering company serving demanding industrial customers.

We are making significant investments in new equipment, technology, and capabilities as we continue to expand the size and complexity of the work we can perform.

This position provides an opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects rather than the same product every day. You will be exposed to CNC machining, large-part manufacturing, fabrication, reverse engineering, inspection, process development, and equipment/facility projects.

For the right person, this position has significant opportunity to grow as the company grows.
