Manufacturing Floor Tech Operator

About Gokoh Coldwater Incorporated (GCI)

Gokoh Coldwater Incorporated (GCI) is a Tier 2 automotive supplier specializing in the production of sand cores used in casting automotive brake rotors.

Position Overview

Enjoy working with machinery, solving problems, and having a variety of responsibilities throughout your workday?

GCI is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Manufacturing Floor Tech Operator to join our production team.

This is an active, hands-on position where you’ll do more than operate machines. You’ll perform maintenance and troubleshooting, complete die/mold changes, handle production chemicals, and help keep our manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys learning new skills, and can work independently after proper training.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operate and monitor production machines to maintain production and quality requirements.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs as needed, including troubleshooting production equipment.
  • Make approved machine adjustments and identify mechanical or operational problems.
  • Perform die/mold changes using an overhead crane after proper training and authorization.
  • Check production chemicals and perform chemical container changeouts using a forklift.
  • Complete routine machine, equipment, and process inspections.
  • Perform regular cleaning and 2S to keep machines, equipment, and production areas clean and organized.
  • Move between machines and responsibilities as production needs change.
  • Communicate equipment, production, quality, and safety concerns to Team Leader & Management.
  • Follow all established safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies.

Daily Checks & Paperwork

Accurate daily checks and paperwork are required responsibilities of this position.

  • Complete required daily machine, equipment, chemical, and production checks.
  • Complete and review daily production paperwork and checklists for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify production counts, scrap, downtime, and other required records.
  • Identify missing or incorrect information and report concerns to Team Leader & Management.
  • Complete assigned daily and weekly checklists accurately and on time.

What We’re Looking For

  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are a must.
  • Ability to learn, retain training, and follow directions without needing repeated instruction.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform routine responsibilities independently after training.
  • Willingness to stay productive, take initiative, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately complete paperwork.
  • Ability to work well with other employees and Team Leader & Management.
  • Ability to perform physical manufacturing work, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check.

Experience That’s a Plus

  • Fanuc Robotics
  • Forklift and overhead crane operation
  • Industrial maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Minor welding
  • Automated production equipment

Previous manufacturing or mechanical experience is preferred, but training will be provided on GCI equipment and procedures.

Work Schedule & Training

Regular Night Shift

  • Sunday–Tuesday: 6:00 PM – 4:30 AM
  • Wednesday: 6:00 PM – 6:15 AM (Thursday morning)

Initial Day Shift Training – Approximately 30–60 Days

  • Monday–Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Thursday: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

New employees will train on Day Shift before transitioning to Night Shift. Training length depends on progress, ability to retain procedures, and demonstrated job proficiency.

Applicants must be available for the Day Shift training schedule.

Daily and weekly overtime may be required based on production and productivity needs.

Why Join GCI?

At GCI, you’ll have the opportunity to work with industrial machinery, develop mechanical skills, troubleshoot equipment, and take on a variety of hands-on responsibilities.

We provide the training. You bring the dependability, willingness to learn, and motivation to do the job right.

If you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, and being part of a manufacturing team, we’d like to hear from you.
