Manufacturing Planner I – Machine Shop

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Manufacturing Planner specializing in the Machining Center, you will play a crucial role in our production process, ensuring efficient and timely manufacturing operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating production schedules and plans for the Machine Shop manufacturing processes, considering material availability, production capacity, lead times, and customer demands.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and engineering, to coordinate and prioritize manufacturing activities.
• Monitor production progress and address any issues or delays to ensure on-time delivery of products.
• Optimizing production workflows and processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Providing input for continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing operations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE/KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven experience in manufacturing planning, specifically in the machining commodity.
• Proficiency in production scheduling software and MRP/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to forecast and anticipate production challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets, use formulas and functions, and analyze large datasets.
• Experience with Power Queries in Excel or similar data retrieval, transformation, and analysis tools and willingness to learn.
